The main aim of the MIR Contact Seminar is to initiate COMENIUS 1 & 2 Projects in the thematic area of the MIR Com 3 Network. The seminar will be of particular interest to primary and secondary
teachers as well as to teacher trainers.

The seminar will focus on
* understanding TODAY'S migration to European countries (from overseas countries)
* taking examples from the HISTORICAL PAST (Europeans as overseas migrants) and use this experience to better understand the present migrants' situation in European countries
* using EMPATHY as a bearing pedagocial principle in learning about migration and intercultural co-existing
* joining schools, teacher training institutions, archives/research centres and local and regional educational authorities into effective collaborative groups
* testing educational material by inventive use of ODL and ICT.

The program of the MIR Contact Seminar is organised into:

- A separate day with full program (Wednesday April 21) with particular weight on understanding the Comenius programme, discussing various possibilities within Comenius 1 and Comenius 2,
and identifying the participants’ special wishes.
- Making use of conference speakers, round tables and workshops at the Secon Annual Thematic
Conference of the MIR Com 3 Network Thursday-Friday April 22-24
Conference theme: 2nd generation migration.
- Have two separate group work sessions on Friday (one is optional).
- Have one separate group work session on Saturday (optional).

Price: 420 EUR
(Material/lectures, acommodation (5 nights), meals except lunch, and official Seminar and Conference dinners (2).
